So, I guess it's been a little while since I've written in this thing. Who knows how long this blog kick will last .. hopefully longer than the last!
Since I last wrote, I've done a few projects for work, but recently transferred into the Applications Dept, and am now an "Associate Engineer" and working directly as a mobile app developer. No complaints here.
Mom and bro were just in town .. after I was in PA to visit the extended family. I can never get enough time around CJ .. he's my favorite person in the world. <3.
Back to work .. hope all is well with everyone. Teaching myself Fireworks and HTML. Wish me luck?

I'm a big girl now :)
Finally placed on a project for work .. AND I don't have to travel - check me out ;). I should be on this project until at least June .. and it's right in McLean! SO EXCITED!
So I'm currently in Marvelous Market with Ches (our home away from home). She's working on some school and Best Buddies stuff, and I'm just kinda killing time. I may do some research for the project, who knows. Cutest baby ever sitting next to us :). This morning I went to Pentagon City by myself ( :( ) .. BUT I was very successful in Macy's and Journey's. I bought two pairs of jeans (Mackensey .. I got Jeggings, bahahaha), and I'm really excited about my new shoes! --->
I can wear jeans and chill clothes to work so I'm pretty excited to not have to get all dressed up lol. Still gotta look cute though ;). I'm pretty excited about this project and to get more into it!
So yesterday I worked from 9:30-5:30pm and headed home - traffic of course, but I was in a good mood so it didn't bother me. It still only takes me about 20-25 mins to get home in traffic, so I guess I really can't complain much! "Just Go With It" just came out last night, so I really want to see that soon! Nothing really big otherwise. My mom wants to fly up during the beginning of March, so I have to try and make that work! She has classes on Saturday, so it has to be once those classes are over. I hope everyone is doing well. I really miss my family - been talking to CJ a lot lately .. he's taking his ACTs today. I'm sure he's rocking them. He is looking at UC Berkeley for school now. How cool would that be? I'd be visiting him frequently ;).
I feel like I have so much to say, but nothing is really coming to mind. Grey's, Private Practice, and Jersey Shore did not disappoint last night. Gotta love my shows <3. Have a great day everyone.

Official Starbucks Gold Card holder
I officially received my Starbucks Gold Card in the mail today -->Pretty awesome right? Haha, just goes to show that I have good taste in coffee!!
Anywho, this show, Toddlers and Tiaras is on right now, and I feel like I may throw up. Why would ANYONE do this to their child? These poor little kids have been turned into monsters because their parents are trying to live vicariously through them. HURL. Poor kids.
So, I spoke with my boss today about my Q1 goals - it was a good convo, but long overdue. I'm hoping to get some work on my plate, instead of being "on the bench"!!
Today the new show "Mr. Sunshine", starring Matthew Perry, began and I think it was pretty funny. Definitely not the best show I've ever seen, but I think I will continue to watch it. Wipeout, Grey's, AND Private Practice tomorrow night. WHOA I'M ALREADY EXCITED. Bahaha.
I know that I had something else that I wanted to write about, but I honestly cannot remember. I always do that, and I hate it. I hope everyone had a great day. My mom says she wants to fly up in the beginning of March, so I am hoping that all works out! Sweet dreams.

andddd the Pack wins the Super Bowl!
Hey all!
It was a very long and jam packed weekend .. and I loved it! So Friday night was changed because a few people couldn't make the night that was planned, so Jordan, Mac, and Antonio ended up coming over to my place and we played Jeopardy (rematch awaits us) and watched "Jerry Maguire" (awesome movie). It was a lot of fun!
Then Saturday I went to hang out with Jordan a little before the women's bball game .. so we watched the men's game on tv (we JUST barely beat Providence by 2 points). So at 2:45, we met up with Mac and Ches (and her family) at the women's game in McDonough. We ended up staying still about 8 minutes left in the game (the girls ended up winning), and then Mac and I went shopping .. the mall and a bunch of other stores .. for some Valentine's Day and birthday presents! We had a BLAST (and were successful!)... Even though we had some slightly awkward moments throughout the night!! bahah "... there's only one" .. "yeah girl" .. "ok then"..... <3
So then Sunday, I went grocery shopping with Ches (for the Super Bowl party) .. Safeway was PACKED, and it was lame trying to get around everyone, but we had fun as always. So we came back to my place and hung out until I picked everyone up and we started cooking. She was a huge help cooking and the food was a great success! We had guac and chips (thanks Mac), cheese and crackers, queso, and tacos :). OH, and Ches made pigs in a blanket, which were a huge hit. Then my awesome friends helped clean up (thank you all) .. It was such a great night and the Packers won! Great food and great friends are always a good combination.
Went to sleep pretty late, and must have really passed out because I didn't wake up today until 12:30. :) It was very nice though, I can't complain! Some good shows on tonight - Harry's Law, Castle, and the new show The Chicago Code (starring Jennifer Beals). I'm excited to see it because I've heard some good reviews so far. I hope everyone is having a great day. Talk to you soon.

Marvelous Market chillin' with Ches
Hi all.I'm currently sitting in Marvelous Market with Ches (new fav. place btw) .. enjoying a coffee and a chat. Their coffee is also very enjoyable :). She has a meeting soon in the B school so we're gonna head out soon anyway.
Yesterday was a good day .. it was long, but I kinda broke it up with a short trip to the Burger Joint and Starbucks. Then Jordan came over and we watched the (finally) new episodes of Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice! Oh, and don't forget the Jersey Shore ;). We enjoyed them all very much, considering we've been waiting for these new episodes for weeks! They ended up being pretty good, although one of the side plots in Grey's was a little weird. Oh well, I'm still hooked (7 seasons and counting ....)
I'm still waiting to receive more information on a possible upcoming project I may be on. Who knows if I will receive more information today, but hopefully next week if not? I'm excited for this weekend .. I have a lot going on! Be back soon.

Happy Birthday, Daddy :)
This might be a record. Two days in a row .. I know. Crazy right?
So today was very productive/fun-filled. I woke up at 10:30, showered, and went to campus .. grabbed coffee from sbucks and waited for Ches to get out of class. We walked over to the dry cleaner on 35th and N, to drop off her work shirt, and then proceeded to the hardware store next door. I should have made copies of my apartment key a long time ago, but I finally decided to today - wait the story gets better. I'm speaking with the very nice gentleman, and he's making me feel good about my purchase of 3 keys. Little did I know, the keys do not fit, and I must return to the store tomorrow. Yeh, I don't really want to discuss that any further! :)
So then we went and hopped in the car and made our way over to the Marvelous Market (next to T-Sweets), and I absolutely fell in love with this place. We each made our own sandwiches, and enjoyed a nice lunch! After that, we drove over to 31st street, parked, and went into the Post Office so she could buy stamps. Then we walked down to The Walking Store so she could buy the HOTTEST work shoes ever (jk, love you ches!). --->
So then we walk down to the Paper Source, which is most definitely "our" store. We each bought discounted cards and envelopes cuz they were so dang cute! Then as we are walking back to the car, Ches points out a nail place so we decide to check it out. She ended up getting a mani & pedi and I got a pedi. We both got the color purple on our toes and she got a french manicure :).
THENNN we went to TD Bank, and Safeway and finally back to her place. We made PUMPKIN DOUGHNUT MUFFINS there. UM YUM. :).
After that, I went and visited Mac and Antonio at sbucks for a little bit :). Georgetown basketball was on as well .. I watched the game at home .. WE BEAT LOUISVILLE WHAT WHATTTT.. :)
It was a splendid day. I hope all is well with everyone. Sweet dreams

Well hello all ..
It sure has been awhile, hasn't it? I figure I should start getting back into this .. It was always something fun to me, although it eventually felt like a chore. Now that I think about it .. I always enjoyed writing whenever I felt like it ..
So today on facebook, I saw that Jen Connell had been doing this photography project called 365 Project. I figured I'd get into it, because it looks like something that I can stick to, and will keep me on track with SOMETHING in my life, haha. Anyway .. you sign up for an account, and you "pledge" to yourself that you will take and upload at least 1 picture everyday, for a year. It is a great way to keep a "photo diary/journal" of your year, and we all know how I love to take pictures :).

First Real World Paycheck
So aside from all of the hustle and bustle of my life lately .. I have to admit that receiving my first paycheck today has been a huge relief for me, and it feels great.
Finally time to just reflect on the past few weeks (which have gone whizzing by) ...
I am really thankful for everything and everyone that has made this past month one to remember. I'm not sure I deserve it all, but I sure am thankful for it. The beautiful people in my life - remain beautiful, and always know that I am here for you if you ever need ANYTHING.
I'm already excited for Grey's Anatomy/Private Practice parties. Weird? Heck no - do you know my friends? We're the bomb ...
Oh and by the way .. when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

From work
Hi all.
I'm currently on my lunch break at work - 12:00-1:00 - and I just finished up a nice Panera Bread Chicken Caesar Salad + Frozen Strawberry Lemonade (Sounds healthy, right?), haha. Anywho, I finally got my lease signed, my address changed (Insurance, Magazines, etc) and things in life are rollin'.
Job? Check. Car? Check. Apartment? Check. Move-in? Ehh ...
Moving in - the stressor that is currently controling my life (as if I don't have enough on my plate already). Luckily, I have my mom and grandma flying in this Friday to help me decorate the apt. I will have to finish up on my own once my furniture is delivered in a week or two, but otherwise, I'm hoping the majority of my stuff is moved in this week. I have to call to set up the electricity, also. More bills. YAY.
It's been nice being in the area, because from time to time, I get to see my friends. I miss being apart of the team, but moreover I miss seeing my friends everyday. You know, those people that make you smile because they know everything about you and can tell in an INSTANT when something is wrong? I'm not really looking forward to living by myself, but like my mom said "It will be good to see what you like, and to get used to yourself." I know that sounds weird, but it makes sense to me. I need to see where my life needs to go, and having had roomies the last 4 years, it is probably time to be dependent on only me. Don't get me wrong, I have plenty of bills I'm paying - but I will have some down time when I need it, as well.
BUT - (best friends take note) - my friends are ALWAYS welcome for dinner and a movie, Grey's Anatomy, what have you. I can't wait to have my apt warming party! (Shooting for mid-October - don't worry, not during Columbus Day weekend!).
Gotta get back to work. Adios for now.

Real world = headache.
Unfortunately, it is obvious that I have not been keeping up with this Blog. I'm hoping that my "new life" in the real world won't throw too many bumps at me (more than it already has!). Currently searching for an apartment and car for my new job with MicroStrategy.

FoodTV
I am officially hooked to FoodTV. I watch Chopped, Cupcake Wars, and Ace of Cakes like it's my freaking job. I also have been watching Cake Boss and other shows on TLC, aka LA Ink. I love Kat Von D - she's so edgy and has the attitude like nothing bothers her. Plus, she's got some sick tattoos, which I am very jealous of. If I could get more, I would. Who knows ;)
I'm currently watching Chopped (go figure), but I am also in Florida! Last minute flight made on Saturday, and I ended up traveling for a good 11 hours straight (lame). I head back to DC this Saturday, but I'm pretty pumped to be home. I'm really hoping to see Su, Dre, and Mickey sometime this week. Also, my HS softball Coach - if she's in town.
I wish I had an automatic car to drive around here. **Automatic being the key word - freaking CJ's car is manual**
Luckily, I am using my dad's car tomorrow so I can get out of the house for the day, and run some errands. Then I will probably meet up with CJ for lunch and who knows what I will do after. But, like I said, I return to DC on Saturday and then MACKENSEY LEIGH CARTER flies back to DC Sunday night and is STAYING WITH ME!!! OMGoodness I am so excited to see her (if you couldn't tell). I miss my bf :(
Still looking for an apartment and trying to get my job background check moving. They keep throwing curve balls at me, so hopefully they are all sorted out. It's been great seeing my family, and I'm really glad I got the chance to come down!

Welcome to the real world, she said to me .. condescendingly
Hi all.
CJ and Jordan were here for a week, and I had a blast with them. It's always great to see my brother .. he's easily my favorite person in the world. The problem is that now I am alone, because Paul left for Wisconsin last Saturday, and I wish I had someone to live with! I am VERY excited though because Mackensey will be here in 10 DAYS to stay with me!!!
Anywho, I finished my internship last Friday and now I am interviewing for another job. I'm hoping everything falls through, it's been going smoothly so far! One more phone interview on Friday and then I should be good to go! I won't start working until September anyway but at least I will have some security!
Still apartment searching - if anyone has any good leads, please let me know! I am looking (preferably Rock Creek, Dupont, or Gtown) .. let me know!!
Gotta run and grab some stuff from Melissa.

Happy Sunday everyone!
My brother and his friend, Jordan, have decided to come and visit me from August 4th-10th!! I'm super excited to see them!! Just gotta try to figure out what to do with them. I'm thinking Spy Museum, Madam Toussaud's Wax Museum, and at least the Newseum!!
So right now I am watching Entourage, and switching back and forth to the soccer game - World Cup Final game between Spain and Netherlands!
Another long week of work tomorrow, but I feel more rested from this weekend, so I'm pretty happy! Hope all is well with everyone - can't wait till summer is over and all my friends come back to play with me!!

TGIF!
It's been a long two days, especially with this ridiculous pain in my stomach and back. I've taken several things for it, but I think I'm just supposed to be in pain for a few day. Oh well.
Crossfit kicked my butt yesterday (every Tuesday and Thursday with Champion) - our warm-up was 400 meter jog, 20 pull-ups, 20 BW squats, and 2 minutes of jump rope. our workout was 45 double-unders (jump rope), 45 SQUAT CLEANS - ridiculous, and 45 double-unders again (jump rope). Talk about a freaking workout.
Needless to say, i'm sore, tired, and would rather be on my couch right now. But I guess that is life and life must go on! Tonight Paul wants to see "Grown Ups", which I've heard wasn't that great. But of course we will like it, just because it has awesome actors and will make us laugh.
Okay, off to Cosi for our Friday breakfast meeting!

Yikes!
It's been a long long while since I've written anything, so I am not even going to ATTEMPT to catch up on everything that has been going on .. I'll just give you a few ideas!
Graduation: ROCKED (minus the fact that we got stuck INSIDE - the only school to be in the gym). It ended up being pretty nice though, since it wasn't as hot inside as it was outside. Plus, it poured, so that would have been bad also, haha.
Work: Currently at CRA - Champion Recruiting Associates in Bethesda, MD. Sourcing and staffing with my fellow interns - Kelsey, Scott, Chelsea, and Jordan. We're all awesome and I love us!
Apartment: Living with Paul Doucas, in Will's room (Will is in Wisconsin for the summer). It's been really awesome staying with him - we get along so well! He even helped me get business cards at an event for work, lol. Really good guy!

I'm back ...
I know it's been awhile, and I don't really have a good excuse as to why I haven't written - but I feel like now would be a good time to write about some feelings I've been having lately.
First off, I started a new blog for my marketing ideas and thoughts - demsdailys.blogspot.com
Secondly, I've been waking up in the morning just plain scared about where the future is going to take me. I graduate in less than 2 months, and the thought of being out in the real world scares me a lot. The fear is real, and trying to balance homework, softball, friends, and life in general has been rough. I want to see all my friends all the time, because I know that time is limited. I also want to eliminate homework and presentations from my life just so that I can hang with my friends, but then I feel like once I graduate, I'll be wishing I had homework again!
I definitely have to be more proactive about jobs and things for when I graduate. It has been helpful to talk to different people about their experiences, and to know that I'm not alone in my job search, and overall panic. It's always hard when you move on from one major part of your life to the next. I even have to start paying off my loans in December! Oh goodness.
Finally, I have to say that I am definitely overall enjoying my last semester on the hilltop, and softball has been bringing me a lot of joy. We unfortunately had to put my puppy down last week (<3 Domino) and that was really tough on me, but my girls on the team really helped me out that weekend and we pulled out a couple of key W's against UCONN.
I look forward to updating this more often in the following years. I think it's important to remember the times that got you where you are today. I hope everyone has a great Easter break with your families!

Opening Weekend
I'll be back with more later.. but we opened in Elon, NC this past weekend .. Played Rider and Elon each twice .. went 2-2, losing both to Elon ..
It was a fun weekend, and I'm so so happy to be back on the field, but I do think we could have come out of the weekend with 4 wins.
Excited for next weekend .. Maybe we'll come out 7-2 ;)
